Launch of Guess Language

Lyn Hejinian (1941 – 2024) was a poet, essayist, translator and publisher. She was a founding figure of the Language poetry movement of the 1970s and an influential force in the world of experimental and avant-garde poetics. Her poetry is characterized by an unusual lyricism and descriptive engagement with the everyday. The title of this exhibition was borrowed from her poem ‘Coverage’ (‘Redo’, Salt-Works Press, 1984). The event is for the launch of a bootleg of her 1984 recording, ‘Redo’. The bootleg was initiated and produced by graphic designer Andrew J. Beltran.
